At Summerset we are here to bring the "best of life to our residents". To do this, we know we need to take care of our people to form a team who are strong enough to care, operate as one team, and strive to do their best.
We are looking for five exceptional Village Assistant's to join our team at our stunning new Boulcott Village located in Lower Hutt. These positions are part time fixed-term until 31st May 2024 to assist in providing village cover, reporting directly to the Village Manager.
Our Village Assistant is in many ways the face of our business and as such you need to be able to relate to a wide range of people, especially the elderly and their families. The Village Assistant role provides great diversity, therefore you would provide a degree of operational, and administrative cover for the Village Manager on rotating roster.
There will be PM and Nightshift's operating from Monday to Friday and AM, PM and Nightshift on Saturday's and Sunday's: The rotating roster for PM and nightshift will be 4 on 3 off followed by 3 on 4 off fortnightly. The rotation is 32 hours one week and 24 the next, this enables everyone to enjoy every second weekend off. One of the successful applicants may want to work the Saturday and Sunday AM shift which will be 16 hours weekly and not rotated. These roles are responsible for being the first point of contact for all Village related matters whilst on duty. Free onsite parking is provided for all shifts.
The PM and nightshift is an "awake" role in which you will be in sole-charge whilst on duty and be required to respond to any emergency situations which may arise. You will also carry out a range of tasks such as cleaning and housekeeping tasks as required. Onsite parking is provided for all shifts.
At Summerset we value your presentation and customer service ethic as much as the technical skills you bring to the team - our culture is what sets us apart! You are expected to be actively interested in the "look and feel" of the Village. This is accomplished within the context of ensuring that the residents feel supported and secure, and enjoy living within Summerset's Villages.
Due to NZ Immigration requirements we are obliged to consider candidates that already have the right to work in NZ for this role first. Due to this we may not be able to support a visa application for this role. This role may close early due to an increased number of applications - apply as soon as possible to avoid disappointment!
The safety of our residents and staff is important to us. For this reason, it is recommended that all our employees are fully vaccinated against Covid-19 before commencing work at Summerset.
Please note, only suitable applicants will be contacted.
