JAS is an international, non-asset-based supply chain services and solutions company. Our services include air and ocean freight forwarding, contract logistics, customs brokerage, distribution, inbound logistics, truckload brokerage and other supply chain management services, including consulting, the coordination of purchase orders and customized management services.
The Logistics Specialist will be responsible for operational duties such as; generating lane rates, dispatching trucks, and carrier relations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Maintaining relationships with the existing transport partners
- Transportation claim management
- Negotiation of transport prices and transport agreements
- Relationship with Customer Care and marketing dept in order to find the best solution for transportation needs
- Others daily logistic activities in order to support the logistic team
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct performance evaluation for direct reports
- Recommend hiring, firing and promotion
- Identify and resolve personnel issues
- Ongoing coaching and mentoring of staff to develop skills to the highest level
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Demonstrated skill in the successful completion of multiple, simultaneous and rapidly emergent tasks.
- Ability to read and comprehend.
- Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with peers, outside agencies and all customer segments.
- Ability to coordinate programs, prepare reports and maintain accurate records.
- Ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
- Ability to anticipate needs and develop a logical plan to meet anticipated needs.
- Multi-task and work with frequent interruptions.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Degree in supply chain and logistics
- 1 years’ experience in logistics operation
- Familiar with logistics process
ENVIRONMENT:
100% performed in climate-controlled internal office environment working under normal office conditions. National and International travel will be (up to ___%) required in support of the position’s responsibilities.
