Job Description:
Main Accountabilities
- Strategy and organizational leadership Acts as member of the business unit management team providing strategic and operational guidance to support ongoing development of the business. Serves as an escalation point for individual and systemic engineering issues within the organization.
- Customer and sales Manage the customer relationships at senior level, develops long-term relationship with key customers. Works with the customer to shape and deliver solutions - seeks feedback and innovates with the customer to drive and deliver improvement. Works with business development to target new. Presents new technology and innovation at conferences, client events.
- Contract management Oversees contractual work within own business units. Conducts regular progress reviews, identifies and manages contract risks.
- Planning and control Creates and manages implementation of long-term strategic plans which define business strategy resource requirements. Oversees planning and control process in the engineering teams. Conducts regular reviews to ensure the execution of tenders/projects according to agreed targets in terms of schedule, quality, cost and customer satisfaction. Monitors quality metrics, identifies opportunities for improvement and oversees improvement activities.
- Risk and opportunity management Creates and implements strategies to ensure that business risks are identified and managed, and business Oversees the proper application of contract and claim management methods in accordance with HAPG policies, and contractual agreements.
- Supply chain management Collaborates with the supply chain function to develop strategic partnerships with key suppliers of services and equipment needed for engineering.
- Technical leadership and development Guide the business in building engineering/operational capability through training, mentoring and shadowing programs. Supports business unit in establishing and deploying required frameworks/processes. Conducts and follows-up certification process jointly with business unit. Ensures processes are in place to capture and share best practices and operational experiences. Supports global business unit strategy with defining concepts for business unit-specific Occupational Health and Safety (OHS), compliance and supply chain management and developing processes and tools.
- Processes and tools Conduct management reviews to guide operation of continuous improvement activities.
- People leadership and development Ensures (with HR support) that the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed, skilled and directed. Guides, motivates, coaches and develops direct and indirect subordinates, within HR polices.
- Finance and budget Contribute to management review of the business unit's financial performance, along with other business unit management team members. Formulates financial plans and budget estimates for the unit/business area. Oversees adherence to these plans and estimates.
Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Min 10 years experience in the Engineering of EHV Substation System Integration style projects working with OEM multinationals (or similar matrix organization), Rail Experience shall be an added advantage
- Shall have proven knowledge, skills, and experience to lead all project execution activities in the area of responsibility.
- Ensure the optimized technical solutions are delivered in accordance with company procedures, contract specifications, quality standards, health, safety & environment requirements, financial targets, and schedule commitments.
- Coordinate and oversee team development and standardized process development to continually improve effectiveness of engineering team members.
- The successful candidate shall have a proven experience to deliver the Design and detailed engineering of EHV substation system integration projects in both greenfield and brownfield environment.
- Good in evaluating the engineering risks and opportunities to strategize the mitigation plan during early design phase
- Skills Quality deliverables with good document management, proficient with MS Office and other Engineering tools
- Experience Offering Engineering support for various Portfolio management of multiple projects with differing complexities and nuances simultaneously
- Ensures performance management of the team and take proactive actions to improve it by appropriate training and development actions.
- Ensure the achievement of milestone as per defined timeline for all engineering deliverables
- Leadership skill in maintaining the team of Engineering professionals with remote engineering support.
