Department Overview
PG&E’s Power Generation Department manages and operates the largest privately-owned hydroelectric system in the nation. These renewable electric generation resources, located mostly at high elevation in California mountain ranges including the Sierra Nevada and southern Cascade mountains include 68 powerhouses, 184 miles of canals, 41 miles of flumes, 135 miles of tunnels, 19 miles of penstocks, 99 reservoirs, and 142,000 acres of watershed lands all covered by 26 operating licenses issued by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC).
Position Summary
This is an International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 1245 represented classification, which has over 100 years of experience representing employees at PG&E. This job is subject to collective bargaining.
Performs routine clerical work requiring a basic knowledge of established Hydro Department office procedures and elementary accounting principles.
Typical Functions:
Place and retrieve files from up to 6ft above the ground, make copies, sort mail, fax information, operate forklift (loading and unloading of various material), maintain various office equipment, file correspondence, use computer, stapler, copier, fax, and various office machines, work in office and warehouse environment, maybe required to work with crews as needed, may be required to work at high altitudes, learn and use file system, order, receive, and stock material, make travel and meeting arrangements, input payroll (verify timecards and input into the payroll system, track and verify overtime sheets, follow direction by First Hydro or Senior Hydro Clerk, compile and review reports, maintain office files, and backup other hydro clerks as required.
PG&E is providing the hourly rate that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This position is subject to collectively bargained hourly wage rates and increases. The starting wage rate for this position is $33.28 per hour. This wage rate is specific to the locality of the job. The wage rate is based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, collective bargaining agreements, and internal equity.
Job Responsibilities
Completes expense reports with supporting documentation; submits for approval and processing; handles lodging coordination
Reviews time cards for accuracy and inputs into the payroll system and submits for approval. Keeps daily contact with crew foreman for the time. Distributes checks, completes change tags in the computer system.
Orders materials and office supplies based on inventory and individual requests. Creates material Purchase Orders. Contacts vendor for pricing information.
Reviews department operations and purchasing invoices for accuracy. Enters invoices into computer system for payment and submits requests and documentation to Accounts Payable department.
Sorts and delivers interoffice mail
Records safety-related information and training information.
Files paperwork and employee files for the department.
Provides administrative support to the department supervisor, including answering of phones, taking messages, scheduling meetings and preparing meeting agendas.
Provides miscellaneous administrative support to employees which may include completing forms and applications, technical assistance, materials tracking, and training.
Qualifications
Minimum:
Must possess a High School diploma, GED or equivalent work experience
Must be at least 18 years of age
Must possess a valid California Driver’s License on day 1 of employment
Ability to drive safely in all weather and road conditions
Ability to work in all weather conditions
Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 75 pounds
Ability to work extended hours, nights, weekends and holidays, and various work schedules
Must be able to work with and/or around helicopters
Must be able to wear company provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Desired:
Live within 50 miles of headquarters
Demonstrated experience operating a forklift
Demonstrated experience with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SAP, Adobe, concur, CATS
Relevant Hiring Hall experience

Understand and follow all safety/environmental rules, regulations and procedures
Effectively communicate and interact with coworkers, contractors, vendors to complete work tasks
