Summary of Position
Performs a variety of routine warehouse functions in typical GMP warehouse, external storage areas and stockroom environment under general supervision. Responsibilities include but are not limited to material handling, shipping, receiving, kitting, staging, replenishment, waste disposal and/or recycling prep, excess/expired disposal and/or recycling prep, cycle counting, transportation on site, and stockroom duties. Performs functions in focused areas (shipping receiving, stockroom, production line supply) as trained and assigned. Operates forklift (sit down and stand up), pallet flipper, pallet jack, pallet wrapper, and box truck on site only. Performs routine, well defined transactions in ERP warehouse management systems and quality management systems both on a computer and a handheld scanner device. Communicates using phone, radio, Microsoft Teams and Outlook.

Job Responsibilities
General

- Performs functions with proficiency as trained and instructed. Routine work is performed under general supervision. More complete work is directly overseen by supervisor or functional SME.
- Responsible for material handling support to meet internal customer needs as assigned.
- Coordinates material movement on loading docks to coincide with production, supply chain, and plant engineering schedules
- Uses safe working methods/procedures at all times to avoid personal injury, injury to co-workers, or damage to company property
- Observes all corporate and Northridge plant safety rules, SOPs and procedures
- Reports unsafe working conditions or equipment operation to supervisor immediately
- Ability to read, write legibly, understand and communicate verbally in English
- Operates Powered Industrial Vehicles, pallet flipper, pallet jack, pallet wrapper, box truck on site only
- Hazardous Waste Duties including handling or generating hazardous waste, preparing hazardous waste for shipment and/or loading hazardous waste onto transport units
- Other waste and recycling duties including handling, prepping for disposal or recycling, loading waste and recycling onto transport units
- At a Certified level of proficiency, is able to complete more complex assignments.
- Maintains assigned areas in a clean, neat and orderly fashion
- Performs other duties, as assigned
- Basic knowledge of Shipping operations, procedures, and documentation
- Interfaces with EHS, transportation carriers
- Utilizes established procedures for shipment of hazardous materials
- With SME assistance, verifies both hazardous and non-hazardous materials and waste shipments for proper packaging, certification, labeling and marking needed to meet all EPA, ICC and DOT state and federal regulations.
- Utilizes established procedures for small parcel shipments, excluding all finished goods
- Operates automated pallet wrapper equipment to assist in the preparation of pallets of materials, product and waste materials for shipment as well as safe internal storage and movement of materials.
- Basic knowledge of Receiving operations, procedures, material tracking systems, and documentation
- Interface with UPS and FedEx to receive and sign for delivered goods
- Interface with other transportation carriers to unload delivered goods.
- Interfaces with procurement, accounting, and quality for data accuracy, corrections to resolve discrepancies, customer and supplier contacts for missing documents
- Physically delivers MRO and supply items to stock room, lab, other departments and individuals
- Reports any incoming material damage or anomalies to supervisor or functional SME.
- Basic knowledge of receiving, stocking, and issue out processes of stockroom
- Assists with resolution and reports inventory and/or documentation discrepancies
- Physically move goods from receiving locations to stockroom
- Put away goods and do corresponding ERP transactions. Count and verify quantities physically in stock and verify ERP system
- Issue out in ERP system from manual records and log sheets. Count and verify quantities physically in stock and verify ERP system
- Put away returns physically in stockroom and do ERP system transaction
- Replenish other stocking locations within production
- Manage small equipment components that require repair, package for shipment
- Pick up recycled batteries from various locations within the plant
- Basic knowledge of material kitting, staging, inventory location control, point of use replenishment, stocking, inventory transactions including cycle counting
- Interface with production, warehouse, scheduling, procurement, quality
- Physically move goods from warehouse stocking and staging locations to production
- Physically stage materials for future production lots
- Put away goods and do corresponding ERP transactions. Count, cycle count, spot count and verify quantities physically in stock and verify ERP system
- Put away returns from the production line physically in warehouse and do ERP system transactions and material labeling
- Perform transactions in ERP system to accomplish kitting, material reservations, material staging, material allocation
- Assists with resolution and reports inventory and/or documentation discrepancies
- Replenish other point of use stocking locations within production
- High school diploma/G.E.D. level of education
- Ability to become forklift certified within first 30 days of employment in either standup or sitdown style or both
- Beginner to intermediate level of computer skills including Microsoft office and ERP
- Prior GMP or other regulated manufacturing or distribution work environment
- Some related job experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse, transportation, picking, kitting, staging and cycle counting helpful.
- Prior experience following company policies and procedures
- Some understanding of material flow, GMP guidelines, accuracy and cycle counting.
- Prior use of ERP System and barcode scanning technology to record material transactions
- Prior forklift operation (sit down and stand up)
- Prior box truck operation – driving, backing into dock, loading/unloading
- 7+ hours of daily physical activity including standing, walking, bending, twisting, stooping, squatting, kneeling, operating typical warehouse equipment
- Frequent lifting up to 25 lbs, occasional lifting up to 50 lbs
- >60% inside GMP warehouse, some climate controlled, < 10% office, < 30% outdoor storage areas and transport between warehouses
This role must maintain strong working relationships within the warehouse staff; cross-functionally with internal material samplers, buyers, customer service, production personnel, facilities, and quality.
