Your future responsibilities
As part of an ongoing project with industry partners, we are currently investigating future on-board charging solutions for electric vehicles. The aim is to reduce weight, save components and space while increasing power density, achieving maximum efficiency and enhancing environmental compatibility.
For this project we are currently looking for a person who is committed and enthusiastic for the field of sustainability-driven technology development. We also offer to round up the project work with a diploma thesis.
Your future tasks include:
- Life cycle & sustainability assessment
- Project evaluation with regards to UN sustainable development goals
- Measurement and evaluation of impact on CO2 emissions efficiency / weight throughout the lifecycle of an electric car
- Reviewing of materials and components used from viewpoints recyclability and circular economy
- Evaluation of impact of size and weight on shipping costs ($ and CO2) and drive distance
- Documentation of results
Your profile
- Enrolled student in the area of Environmental Systems Science, Energy and Environmental Management, Biorecources Management or related fields
- Focus of study/experience with analysis of life cycle and sustainability assessment methods, carbon footprint, circular economy and material flows
- Autonomous, well organized and enjoy working in a dynamic and multi-cultural team
- Good oral and written communication skills in English, German is a plus
Important Facts about SAL
- Start as soon as possible.
- Part time ( 16 hours / week).
- Limited contract until March 2026.
- Possibility to round up the work package with a thesis together with the university / FH.

This position is subject to the Collective Agreement for employees in non-university research (Research CA) starting in occupational group C. For this position, we offer a monthly salary of EUR 2.466, paid 14 times a year.
