Burgundy Diamond Mines LTD is an emerging, fast growing exploration diamond company with an innovative strategy, world class management team and board and with a focus on fancy-coloured diamonds and an end-to-end sales and marketing plan.
Role Overview and Responsibilities
The role is scoped for a skilled artisan to work on and create some of the most valuable polished diamonds in the world. A diamond polisher role demands a relentless pursuit of precision and excellence and the ability to balance technology and craftsmanship for the optimal outcome.
The role requires the best practice in the assessment, planning, preparation and polishing of all Burgundy Diamonds to support the polishing requirements of the business. Accountability for the security of product and responsibility for active participation in safety and security programs supporting the Burgundy Diamonds operations is a must.
Responsibilities include:
- Processing rough diamonds according to the plan provided, using appropriate technology to ensure the full value of each stone is optimised during the manufacturing process.
- Support the appropriate standards for both safety and diamond control initiatives within the workplace.
- Building trusting relationships based on respect, dignity, transparent communication, and cooperation.
The position is based in Perth, Western Australia
Successful Applicant Must Have the Following Skills and Expertise:
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience, in all areas of manual diamond polishing. This includes but not limited to setting, crossworking, hand shaping, bruting, brillianteering kerfing and scaife preparation.
- Knowledge and experience using and applying the appropriate technology to facilitate the polished outcome - sarin planning, galaxy assessments, laser cutting and laser shaping.
- Full knowledge of all the required polishing tools and how to use each one safely and correctly.
- An understanding of the complexity of processing / manufacturing round and fancy cuts and has experience in completing both.
- Be able to work to a pre-defined MAKE standard.
- Have experience in polishing all sizes of diamonds ranging from 0.25 points to more than ten carats.
- Be proficient in both spoken and written English.
- Maintain an elevated level of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.
- Have exceptional attention to detail, spatial awareness, and planning ability.
- Be computer literate.
- Support a sense of teamwork - fostering collaborative, purposeful partnerships.
