Job Summary

Washing and sterilizing of laboratory glassware; assist with fly food preparation.

Essential Job Duties

• Wash and sterilize laboratory glassware by hand and by automated washing machines
• Perform cleaning, rinsing, and drying of glassware for BBE laboratories; this may be done by hand or by using autoclaves for sterilization
• Assist fly food facility by applying plugs on vials and bottles of prepared food
• Occasionally assist with fly food preparation by following recipe, use kettle to cook food, and use pipette machine to distribute food to vials and bottles
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of glass washing
• Must be able to lift 20-50 pounds and be able to stand for long periods of time
• Possess good communication skills
• Must be dependable
• Must work well with others
• Must interact daily with functional peer group and supervisor

Preferred Qualifications

• Bilingual English/Spanish
