The UW Graduate School MHCI+D Master of Human-Computer Interaction and Design has an outstanding opportunity for Program Operations Specialist.
MHCI+D is one of the premier Human-Computer Interaction programs in the world, focused on developing leaders who will bring forward the future of technology innovation towards a more equitable, resilient and joyous world. The Program Manager is a central member of our staff and is responsible for the planning and administration of program operations. This position is responsible for the development of the program’s operational policies and procedures, the planning and execution of program events and activities, fiscal performance and management, curriculum delivery, facilities planning and operations, and relationship management across the University, resulting in a sustainable and high level of student satisfaction and comparable or superior performance to similar programs in measures such as number of applicants, job placement, etc. This position operates under the direction of the MHCI+D Program Director.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Manage Operational Planning and Communication – 30%
This position manages programmatic operations for the MHCI+D Director, ensuring operational stability and program sustainability. Responsibilities include:
Team Training, Management & Direction – 20%
Under the direction of MHCI+D Director, the Program Manager manages program staff to deliver the MHCI+D graduate program, including:
Administrative Support of Curriculum Development – 20%
Fiscal and Facilities Management – 20%
Admissions Process Management – 10%
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position will supervise a 1.0 FTE classified staff Program Coordinator, temporary staff, and student workers.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.

This position is eligible to work a hybrid schedule of 3 days per week on-site and 2 days remote, with on-site work taking place adjacent to the UW Seattle campus. Certain critical deadlines may require occasional extended work hours in the evening and weekend as needed to host events and meet admissions/recruiting deadlines.
