Senior Master Data Analyst
Member of the GBS MDM team with an excellent understanding of master data and its importance to Smith & Nephew to manage, maintain, monitor policies and quality standards. Provide targeted support for issues and data maintenance. Responsible for maintenance of business-critical data globally and having the ability to trouble shoot issues and offer solutions. Work with the DQO team in transitioning data related projects into BAU. Accountable for implementing best practices and maintaining strong relationships with other areas of the business. Needs to demonstrate excellent knowledge across both technical and functional areas of operational ERP systems as well as provide advice, guidance and training to both colleagues and internal customers. Supports data cleansing and data migration activities as day-to day operations and during projects execution, in different focus areas and systems across Smith+Nephew. Needs to act as a linking pin between relevant departments; (Master Data Management, IT, Supply Chain, Marketing, Sales, Service) and other business units to solve issues, improve data quality and project execution.
Your role:
  • Manage and prioritize the GBS MDM Service Now requests, working within agreed SLA’s.
  • Provide complete and professional responses to customer in a timely manner.
  • Work with designated ERP system internal customers on understanding daily production/logistics problems, updating master data changes, co-ordinate and execute master data uploads.
  • Co-ordinate and resolve processing/reporting and field conflict issues within the MDM team
  • Execute item master data transactions covering create, amend, extend materials, source lists, purchase info records, vendors, customer, and manufacturing elements.
  • Create training materials and documentation and execute training using the appropriate tools, where appropriate
  • Participate in data harmonization activities, and MDM process-improvement workshops
  • Maintain the MDM Standard Operating Procedures and Data Dictionary
  • Identify gaps in policies and escalate issues to MDM managers as necessaryfor resolution
  • Define and document global MDM processes
  • Implement material master data quality best practices and drive continuous improvement
  • Implement standards/guidance for Material master data auditing/validating and cleansing
  • Implement metrics, measurements, data quality score carding
  • Provide appropriate training and education of the countries in the BAU region for Data
  • Participate in Annual Product review process in MDM activities and annual transfer pricing loads
  • Participate in Master Data global projects
  • Winshuttle scripts runner/developer expertise
  • Working knowledge of Master Data management tools/apps: IDQ; Embarcadero; Winshuttle, EFLOW, Appian, Service Now, etc
  • Assess the overall business value derived from MDM.
What we are looking for:
  • 3 years’ experience in data management and/or governance.
  • Bachelor’s degree, or in country equivalent qualifications; or equivalent experience in a data management role
  • Experience in Material (Raw Mat, semi-finish, finished goods), Vendor and Customer Master Data
  • Experience in SAP/Axapta system including mass upload
  • A good understanding of data management principles and best practice
  • Have a working knowledge of core data / analysis tools particularly Informatica, Winshuttle,
  • MS Excel, Business Objects, SAP SQVI, Power BI, etc.
  • Good interpersonal skills – ability to build good relationships with virtual teams and senior leadership
  • Recognized as a subject matter expert for data management and data quality for the region
  • Advanced Excel skills, strong data analysis skills
  • Ability to work across multiple source system including various SAP versions, Axapta, Eflow, Matrix, Movex, etc.
