Te Tāhuhu o te Mātauranga - Ministry of Education is looking for a Senior Education Adviser to be part of the team based in our Ōtautahi Office.

Te Mahau | Te Tai Runga is a frontline group. Our frontline groups collectively provide leadership and integrated services to the sector and others. This includes services such as learning support, education advice, regulation and network functions for schools and early learning services. We do this through coordinating and delivering responsive solutions in order to realise the local education priorities and goals.

We are seeking a dynamic, proactive and enthusiastic individual to join our team in the Ōtautahi office. The team have been taking various action to bring to life the vision of Te Ara Whiti @ Te Urutī (our regional change plan) - ‘our people, our organisation, our system will be confident and capable in taking effective Tiriti honouring and racial equity actions'. If you value variety and challenge in your work, have a passion for improving educational achievement for all children, particularly Māori and Pasifika, and are committed to building collaborative relationships and finding new ways to do things differently, this could be the role for you.
The Senior ECE Advisor works within early learning services across the region and engages with the learning community to broker and support the implementation of services, projects and initiatives. They provide advice and guidance to the sector alongside monitoring and implementing the regulatory framework. This role has a strong regulatory focus including conducting licensing assessments, investigating complaints and incidents, and making licencing recommendations.

Do you have?
- A relevant qualification
- Knowledge of Early Childhood services, and the Early Childhood curriculum, regulations and/or pedagogies.
- Evidenced bi-cultural practice and a working knowledge of Te Tiriti.
- Experience in building relationships and partnerships to achieve shared outcomes
- Build trusting relationships and work confidently and effectively with our Early Childhood sector, iwi, rūnanga and other stakeholders.
- Build trust when working with key stakeholders to support decision making and sustain improvement and change and maintain open, responsive and inquiry-focused relationships with stakeholders and colleagues.
