Lab Scientist, Biologist [Greece]


 

We are looking for a biologist to support our research and lab activities. The person will be based in Athens, Greece, and will be working as part of a team with immunologists, chemists, and medical doctors towards the evaluation of nanoparticle-based bacterial vaccines.

Tasks

  • Independently conducting tests and experiments and reporting results
  • Development and evaluation of immunological assays (e.g. ELISA, ELISPOT, flow cytometry)
  • Bacteria handling
  • Mammalian cell culture
  • Performing literature research
Requirements

  • Master’s in Biology, Immunology or similar qualification
  • Strong experience in immunological assays (ELISA and other in vitro binding assays will be a strong focus)
  • Bacteria handling experience (bacteria cell culture, quantification, bacteria binding assays)
  • Protein handling (expression, purification, analytics) is nice to have but not required.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment.
  • Willingness to develop and implement new techniques.
  • Very good knowledge of English
The Immunobiology and Vaccinology Research Lab is located within the Campus of “Agia Sofia” Children’s Hospital, Athens, Greece. We offer an exciting working opportunity at the interface between basic and applied research. Starting date is as soon as possible.
