Job Description


Pay Range: $22.00 to $26.00 per hour

Purpose of Position:

To assist with credit and collection processes within the company while maintaining a prompt collection of receivables in accordance with department goals and providing timely new credit files while promoting good customer relations.

Essential Functions:

Collect past due accounts, to include e-mail, fax and call customers to propose new invoicing and payment methods with customer. Payment method determination will include evaluation and analysis of electronic payments vs. payments by check and evaluating if cash flow is improved.

Establish proper credit terms and limits for various customer industries, up to $50k per week or $200k per month per customer. This includes evaluation and analysis of customer financial statements, estimating sales dollars, and proper analysis of trade credit and credit services financial data.

Process new customer accounts and current customer revision folders, including requesting outside credit agency reports and pulling trade credit group information. The evaluation and analysis of this data is critical to establish these new accounts. Also work with sales team to ensure proper data is obtained to complete credit analysis for establishing proper limits.

Cross-train and backup credit analyst position by understanding/training with larger accounts, customer web portals for collections, calling more difficult customers, and some SAP customer reporting. Will include evaluating/analyzing larger customer credit limits and getting familiar with other customer industries.

Additional Functions:


Working out issues and payment arrangements with customers if slow paying.

Adhere to procedures pertaining to credit and collections and updating where possible.

Constantly look for process improvements on the desk and within the department.

Being able to work with any customer and multiple customer industries in a backup role when needed.

Manually process customer payments (checkwriter).

Monitor and distribute fax/emails within department inboxes.

Process check requests and returned items.

Performs other duties as requested by analyst, supervisor, and/or manager


Qualifications


High School diploma or equivalent, some college courses preferred in Finance or Accounting.

Credit certification preferred (CBA, CBF, CCC), an equivalent certification, or working towards one.

One-three years experience in credit and collections preferred.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and must have ability to solve problems in a detailed, comprehensive manner.

Computer literate in the Microsoft environment and SAP experience strongly preferred.

Must be able to work independently and have a high degree of organization and prioritization skills.
