Job Description:
-Abstracts patient charts and assign appropriate diagnostic codes. This function is accomplished in a prompt and reasonable timeframe in accordance with productivity and accuracy standards.
-Synopsize important information from patient records and assign / review medical codes for accuracy.
-Responsible for ensuring codes meet all federal, legal & Insurance regulations so payments are obtained in a timely manner.
-Keep abreast of coding guidelines and reimbursement reporting requirements. If concerns are identified, bring concerns to the attention of the Medical Coding Supervisor for resolution.
-Update skill and knowledge levels in accordance with CMS approved (AHA and AMA) coding changes.
-Complies with confidentiality standards and HIPAA privacy regulations.
-Perform other tasks and projects as needed by medical coding operations.
An Ideal candidate for Certified Medical Coder should possess the following:
*Must have Active CPC/CPC-A license
*Any other coding license is ACCEPTED!
*Graduate of Non-Medical Allied courses are welcome to apply with or without coding exp
*Should be willing to work on a Temp WFH set-up.
*Can start ASAP.
*Excellent communication skills.
