Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to join our architectural design and real estate firm. As an Accountant, you will play a vital role in managing the financial aspects of our business operations. Your primary responsibilities will include recording and analyzing financial transactions, preparing financial statements, managing payroll, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations. Proficiency in using QuickBooks and other accounting software is essential for this role.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day financial activities of the architectural design and real estate firm.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Process financial transactions, including invoices, payments, and receipts, while ensuring proper documentation and approvals are obtained.
- Reconcile bank statements and monitor cash flow to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities, providing insights and recommendations to improve financial performance.
- Collaborate with internal teams to gather and analyze financial data for project cost analysis and profitability assessment.
- Coordinate and oversee payroll processing, ensuring accurate calculation of wages, deductions, and tax withholdings.
- Monitor and manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoicing, collections, and vendor payments.
- Perform periodic audits and reconciliations to ensure compliance with accounting principles, policies, and regulations.
- Prepare and submit accurate and timely tax filings, such as sales tax, payroll tax, and corporate tax returns.
- Keep abreast of changes in accounting regulations and best practices to ensure compliance and optimize financial processes.
- Utilize QuickBooks accounting software to efficiently manage financial transactions, generate reports, and streamline processes.
- Provide support during financial audits, working closely with external auditors to ensure accurate and timely completion.
- Collaborate with the finance team to develop and implement financial controls and procedures to mitigate risk and improve efficiency.
- Assist with special projects and ad-hoc financial analysis as required.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A professional accounting certification (e.g., CPA) is preferred.
- Proven work experience as an Accountant, preferably in the architectural design or real estate industry.
- In-depth knowledge and experience working with QuickBooks is essential.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, regulations, and financial reporting standards.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and other accounting software applications.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial data entry and analysis.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial information.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of integrity and professionalism when handling confidential financial information.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Knowledge of tax regulations and experience in tax preparation is an advantage.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: ₦150,000.00 - ₦250,000.00 per month
